Women & Children ServicesLawnwood's Women's & Children's Services offer a broad range of quality care for infants, children, and women of all ages. Labor and DeliveryThe Labor and Delivery unit is comprised of 7 Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) Suites. An operating room on the unit makes it convenient for patients needing a caesarean section to be cared for by the same caring and professional labor and delivery staff. Our team of highly skilled medical, nursing and supportive staff is committed to providing quality care to families through the entire birth experience. Lamaze classes, coaching, infant care classes are offered. Level I Nursery and Post Partum The Level I Nursery is a 16 bed unit where newborns are cared for and is open to mothers at all times. Infant care classes are offered daily. All nurses are certified in neonatal resuscitation. The Post Partum Unit is an 18 bed unit where patients are cared for before and after birth, gynecological surgeries, and mother/baby coupling delivery of care (infant and mother cared for by the same nurse). Infant care and discharge instruction classes offered daily. All nurses are certified in neonatal resuscitation. Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit The Only Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in St. Lucie County:
PediatricsLawnwood Regional Medical Center's 11 bed pediatric unit focuses on the delivery of excellent pediatric nursing care and teaching strategies for the families of our pediatric population. Our child friendly unit is designed for children with animal themed wallpaper and open, protected play areas. Late and missed vaccinations put babies at risk. Get the 2010 vaccine schedule. The Healthy Start ProgramHealthy Start is a comprehensive health care program which provides universal screening of pregnant women and infants to ensure that all women and children have access to prenatal and health care. Lawnwood Regional Medical Center is the lead agency in coordinating the services that link pregnant women and infants who have been referred for Healthy Start care coordination with the supports and services that complement, supplement and assure continued participation in prenatal and infant health care.
